Privacy Policy

Last updated April 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how JobHelpGuide Media ("JobHelpGuide," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about you when you visit jobhelpguide.org, read our content, download a resource, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the "Site"). Please read it carefully. By using the Site, you consent to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, do not use the Site.

JobHelpGuide is supported entirely by display advertising. To keep our content free, we work with a range of advertising partners, ad networks, and analytics providers that collect information about your visit. This Policy explains what they collect, why, and how you can exercise choices.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our advertising and analytics partners automatically collect technical and usage information about your device and visit. That information typically includes:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address and approximate geographic location derived from it
  • Device type, operating system, browser type and version, language, screen size, and time zone
  • Mobile device identifiers, advertising identifiers (such as Apple IDFA or Google Advertising ID where exposed), and other persistent and non-persistent identifiers
  • Pages and resources you view, the order in which you view them, time spent on pages, scroll depth, links clicked, and on-site search terms
  • Referring URLs and outbound links
  • Date and time of visit and connection speed
  • Cookie identifiers and similar technology identifiers (see Section 4)
  • Inferences drawn from the above to create general interest segments used to select advertising

1.2 Information you provide voluntarily. If you sign up for a newsletter, request a downloadable resource, complete a Google Offerwall survey, send us mail, or otherwise interact with a feature that requests information, we receive whatever information you choose to provide, which may include your name, postal address, employment status, professional interests, and any content of the message itself.

1.3 Information from third parties. Our advertising partners, analytics providers, and consent management providers may share information with us about your interactions with our Site and with other sites in their networks, including audience segments, conversion data, and aggregate performance metrics. We may combine that information with information we collect directly.

1.4 Sensitive personal information. We do not knowingly collect government identifiers, financial account numbers, biometric data, precise geolocation, health data, or any other category that constitutes "sensitive personal information" under applicable privacy law. Do not submit such information to us.

2. How we use information

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

  • Operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Site and its features
  • Deliver, measure, and improve advertising shown on the Site, including selecting which ads to display and capping the number of times you see the same ad
  • Conduct analytics, audience measurement, attribution, and editorial research, including measuring traffic acquired through paid campaigns
  • Personalize content and recommend articles based on inferred interests
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, ad fraud, invalid traffic, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Use
  • Communicate with you in response to inquiries, requests, or service announcements
  • Comply with applicable law, regulation, court order, or other legal process, and enforce our legal rights

3. Advertising, analytics, and the partners we use

We monetize the Site through display, video, and native advertising, including formats served through real-time bidding ("programmatic advertising") and direct-sold campaigns. To do this, we work with the following categories of partners that may collect or receive information about your visit:

  • Ad serving and yield management: Google Ad Manager, Google AdSense, and Google Funding Choices
  • Demand-side platforms and exchanges: the open programmatic ecosystem participating in Google Ad Manager auctions, including but not limited to The Trade Desk, Magnite, PubMatic, Index Exchange, OpenX, Xandr, Criteo, and similar partners
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 and similar tools used to measure on-site behavior
  • Consent and preference management: Google Funding Choices, which implements the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) and the IAB Global Privacy Platform (GPP) where applicable
  • Hosting and content delivery: our hosting provider, content delivery network, and security providers

These partners use cookies, software development kits, pixel tags, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information described in Section 1, both on our Site and across other sites in their networks. They use that information to select advertising, cap ad frequency, attribute conversions, prevent fraud, and build interest-based audience segments.

To learn more about how Google uses information collected on sites that use its services, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. To opt out of personalized advertising by Google, visit adssettings.google.com. To opt out of personalized advertising from many participating networks at once, visit the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page at optout.aboutads.info, the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page at optout.networkadvertising.org, or for the European Union, youronlinechoices.eu.

To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or limit ad personalization in your Google account.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We and our partners use cookies, local storage, software development kits, pixel tags, web beacons, and similar technologies (collectively, "cookies") to collect information automatically. Cookies fall into the following general categories:

  • Strictly necessary cookies that are required to deliver the Site and remember your privacy choices
  • Performance and analytics cookies used to understand how visitors interact with the Site
  • Advertising cookies used by us and our advertising partners to select, deliver, frequency-cap, and measure advertising
  • Functional cookies used to remember your preferences across visits

You can manage cookies through the consent prompt presented when you visit from a region requiring consent, through the cookie settings link in our footer, or through your browser's settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the Site from working correctly.

5. Legal bases for processing (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal information on the following legal bases:

  • Consent for personalized advertising, advertising cookies, analytics cookies, and any processing that requires consent under applicable law. You can withdraw consent at any time through the consent prompt
  • Legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Site, in measuring aggregate traffic, in preventing fraud, and in protecting our legal rights, where those interests are not overridden by your interests or fundamental rights
  • Compliance with legal obligations where processing is required by applicable law

6. CCPA, CPRA, and other US state privacy disclosures

Some US state privacy laws give residents specific rights regarding their personal information. This section addresses those laws.

6.1 Categories collected and disclosed. In the past twelve months, we have collected the following categories of personal information from California residents and similarly situated residents of other US states with comprehensive privacy laws: identifiers (such as IP address and online identifiers); internet or other electronic network activity information (such as browsing history on the Site and interactions with advertising); geolocation information (approximate, derived from IP address); and inferences drawn from the above. We disclose these categories to our advertising partners, analytics providers, hosting providers, and other service providers described in this Policy for the purposes described in Section 2.

6.2 "Sale" and "share" of personal information. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. However, our use of advertising partners that participate in real-time bidding may constitute a "sale" or a "share" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act) and similar laws in Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, and other US states. You can opt out of this sharing through the cookie settings link in our footer, by enabling a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser (which we honor as a valid opt-out for California residents), or by using the industry opt-out tools listed in Section 3.

6.3 Sensitive personal information. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information as defined by California or similar laws.

6.4 Your rights. Subject to verification and applicable exceptions, residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, port, opt out of sale or sharing, opt out of targeted advertising, and limit use of sensitive personal information. To exercise these rights, follow the instructions in Section 12.

6.5 Non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

7. Sharing of information

We share personal information in the following circumstances:

  • With service providers, processors, and contractors who perform services on our behalf and are bound by contractual confidentiality obligations
  • With advertising partners and analytics providers as described in Section 3
  • To comply with applicable law, lawful requests by public authorities, court orders, subpoenas, or other legal process
  • To enforce our Terms of Use, protect the Site, prevent fraud, or protect the rights, property, or safety of JobHelpGuide, our users, or others
  • In connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, in which case personal information may be transferred as part of the transaction
  • With your consent or at your direction

8. International data transfers

We are based in the United States, and our service providers and advertising partners may be located in the United States or other countries. If you visit the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States and other jurisdictions whose data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved transfer mechanisms with our processors.

9. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed at children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the address in Section 12 so we can delete the information.

10. Data retention

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law. Analytics and advertising data is retained per the settings of the underlying platforms (typically up to 26 months for Google Analytics 4, longer for aggregate reporting). Written correspondence is retained for up to three years unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Information that has been aggregated or de-identified may be retained indefinitely.

11. Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including HTTPS encryption in transit and selection of reputable processors. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the Site at your own risk.

12. How to exercise your rights

To exercise any privacy right described in this Policy, including the right to know, access, correct, delete, port, or opt out of sale or sharing, submit your request through the contact form on our Contact page and select "Privacy and data requests" as the topic. Include enough information for us to verify your identity and locate your records, and describe the right you wish to exercise. We may need additional information to verify a request before acting on it. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, subject to verification.

For California residents, you may also opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information by enabling a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, which we honor as a valid opt-out request when received.

13. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is no industry-standard interpretation of DNT signals, we do not currently respond to them. We do honor Global Privacy Control signals as described above.

14. Third-party links

The Site contains links to third-party websites, courses, certification programs, and tools. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or availability of those third parties. This Policy applies only to the Site. Review the privacy policies of third-party sites before providing them with information.

15. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide additional notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

16. Contact

Questions about this Policy can be submitted through the contact form on our Contact page. Select "Privacy and data requests" as the topic.
